WITH GREATER SAFETY & SPEED ...
The HARTH Technology Blue Water / Green Water Ship shown is first on scene and close to making a high-seas rescue of down airliner in distress. The stable platform performance of the HARTH designed ships, assures such new rescue capabilities with far greater safety and speed. From the main deck, a hook or basket is lowered, a mighty overhead gantry crane is positioned and a hydraulically-lowered deck platform or netted platform can be lowered with complete ship stability in these highly elevated sea states. The rescue platform can even be lowered to below the surface of the water, allowing life rafts , or persons floating in life preservers, to float over the submerged platform or netted framing ... Then raising that platform up and out of the water - into the main deck and to the safety of the HARTH ship's house, all while having no sea- sickness of the ultra-stability and finally to a warmed interior.
We have all seen (and remember seeing on TV), the dismal vessel performances of the heroic manned boats and ships, attempting the recovery of a downed 747 airliner just off of Long Island, NY, USA just a few years back. These 'rescue ships' were sent back to local ports at critical rescue times, just because these vessels were experiencing a modest Force 5 or 6 Sea State. These conventional vessels, large and small, simply cannot provide for a safe working interface with the ocean's surface or other nearby tossing ships for critical work - in even such modest levels of the ocean's choppy waters. There's a much better way ...
The smallest designs of HARTH vessels, are all rated for stability at those minimal Sea State levels. Larger vessels retain both the high speed and stability capabilities at significantly greater Sea Force levels, of Forces 8, 9, 10 or 11.

Above: Fast response to oil spill clean-ups are feasible with high-speed Hydro Lance Ships which are optionally equipped with oil spill clean-up systems when constructed. Such HARTH fast ships not only arrive on scene before others, but can deploy clean-up booms cleaning a swathe from 200 to 300 feet wide then at slower speeds of 6 - 20 Knots. The GPS guided system then separates the spilled oil from the sea water, bagging it and then depositing those specialized floating bags for oil tanker or tender retrieval in a continuous automated manner.
