The state of the sea will seriously affect the performance of all conventional ships, unlike the performance of HARTH designed and built ships.  Accordingly, all conventional ships (prior-art) rate their cruising speeds in smooth water.  The Hydro Lance HARTH ship's speed is rated to and through 80% of the Sea-State rating of that vessel design.
